Adoptables

Xena - ADOPTABLE

Fee: $500

is a 5 year old spotted miniature Molly. She was a rescue transfer from Dansville, Michigan in October 2019. Xena leads with a halter, stands tied and picks up all 4 of her feet. Xena also knows target-training using a clicker. Xena is a young and sassy little girl who needs a family that will work with her consistently on keeping the right behaviors and also make sure she has a healthy diet to keep her from being overweight.

Philip - ADOPTABLE

Fee: $1,000

is a 24 year old bay gelding with a blaze and four white socks. He was part of a very large rescue of hundreds of animals in early 2018 from severe neglect. Philip leads with a halter, stands tied and picks up all 4 of his feet. Philip is very friendly, easy to catch, loves to be brushed and enjoys interacting with people. Sadly, Philip has an old fracture in his right hind leg that prevents him from being totally sound or rideable. Otherwise Philip is healthy and he would make a perfect companion for another equine or for someone at the beginner level and up who would like to have a safe, sweet horse for companionship.

Georgia - IN TRAINING

is a 25 year old white Molly. She was an owner surrender in Keller, Texas. Georgia leads with a halter, stands tied and picks up all 4 of her feet. According to her previous owner, Georgia has been ridden but we have not ridden her at LMMR. Georgia has a birth defect and lacks nictating membranes in her eyes, so she has to wear a fly mask most of the time. She can still see, but her vision is somewhat impaired. Georgia is a very safe mule to be around, but she is initially reluctant to trust new people because of her visual impairment, so she needs gentle and patient hands to earn her trust and care for her.

Penny - IN TRAINING

is a 13 year old 13.3h sorrel Molly. She was a rescue transfer from a hoarding situation in Gilmer, Texas. Penny walks on a halter, stands tied, picks up her front feet and has been ridden at LMMR. Penny is a shy soul who we think was treated roughly in her past as she prefers to be by herself away from people and other animals. Penny would do best in a home that can interact with her every day.

Theo - IN TRAINING

is a 6 year old 13.1h John. Theo was a rescue transfer from a hoarding situation in Gilmer, Texas. Theo leads with a halter, stands tied and has had his first ride under saddle at LMMR. Theo is outgoing and affectionate although he can be reluctant to catch at first. Theo also knows target-training using a clicker. He needs a family that has experience working with young, green mules to keep him on the right track for a good future.

Junie - IN TRAINING

is an 8 year old 10.3h Molly. Junie was a rescue transfer from a hoarding situation in Gilmer, Texas. Junie leads with a halter, stands tied, picks up her front feet and has had her first ride under saddle at LMMR. Junie is a calm, quiet girl who likes interacting with people. Junie also knows target-training using a clicker. Junie would be a good candidate for a first-time mule owner with some equine experience who is willing to continue working with her on a regular basis.

Digger - IN TRAINING

is an 11 year old 13h John. Digger was a rescue transfer from a hoarding situation in Gilmer, Texas. Digger leads with a halter, stands tied, picks up his front feet and has had his first ride under saddle at LMMR. Digger is a calm mule with a good mind and friendly demeanor. He is dominant towards other equines and prefers to have his own space when eating. Digger does have a conformational defect and is very cow-hocked, so his riding career would have to be light and he is not physically suitable for packing. Digger would do well for an intermediate mule person or as a companion for another equine.

Gus - IN TRAINING

is a 4 year old 14h John. Gus was an owner surrender in San Angelo, Texas. Gus leads with a halter, stands tied and picks up his front feet. Gus is a very lazy and friendly easy to catch mule. He is willing, and loves people so much that sometimes he needs to be reminded of his manners. Gus would do best in a home willing to invest their time into furthering his career as he is young and learns quickly.
