Phoenix was rescued by LMMR from a local auction in Texas as a 5 week old orphan mini mule, who had been dumped at auction by her previous owners after her mother died. Phoenix was immediately transported to our Refuge and provided with veterinary care. Our Refuge located and provided a nurse foster mare for her, but despite our best efforts, Phoenix continued to weaken until she had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at our nearby university hospital. Phoenix is fighting and recovering from her sad ordeal, and daily updates about her progress are provided on our Facebook page. Because Phoenix has fans around the world, her sponsorship is open for anyone and everyone to join for $5/month.
